Frequently asked questions
How do I make a wedding guest list?
Add each guest by name (or paste a list / import a spreadsheet), then set their RSVP status, party, meal choice and any notes. The live dashboard tracks your attending headcount, response rate and meal totals as you go, and you can export or print the finished list for your caterer or venue — no spreadsheet formulas required.
Is my guest list private?
Yes — completely. Everything you enter is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and never uploaded to any server. Clearing your browser data or using a different device/browser will start a fresh list, so export a CSV/JSON backup if you want to keep or move it.
Can I import my existing list from Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. Click Import, then either choose a .csv file or copy your rows straight from Google Sheets/Excel and paste them in (tab-separated paste works too). The tool auto-matches common column headers like “First Name”, “Email”, “RSVP” and “Meal”, and ignores columns it doesn’t recognise.
How is the “attending” headcount counted?
Each row is one guest, so the Attending number counts every guest whose RSVP is set to Attending. Add plus-ones and children as their own rows (with the same Party name) so your headcount, kids count and meal totals stay accurate for catering and seating.
What can I export?
Download the current (filtered) list as a CSV — perfect for re-importing, mail-merge or sharing — or as JSON for a full backup. You can also Print a clean guest sheet (great for caterers or a seating chart). Exports respect your active search and filters.
Can I track meals, seating and thank-you notes?
Yes. Open any guest (the pencil icon) to set meal choice, dietary needs, table/seating, address, plus-one, tags and notes, and to tick off save-the-date, invitation, gift received and thank-you sent. The dashboard shows live meal and logistics totals.
Is the guest list manager free and do I need an account?
It's completely free with no sign-up — just open the page and start adding guests. Everything is saved in your own browser, so there's no account to create and nothing is uploaded, though you can export a CSV/JSON backup any time.
Can I use it to plan seating and count plus-ones?
Yes. Assign each guest a table or seat and add plus-ones and children as their own rows under the same party, so the dashboard keeps an accurate headcount, kids count and meal total for your caterer and seating chart.
