Frequently asked questions
What is a loan against property (LAP)?
A secured loan where you pledge a residential or commercial property as collateral. Banks usually lend 50–65% of the property’s market value, at rates lower than unsecured loans but higher than home loans.
What is the LTV ratio?
Loan-to-value is the loan amount as a percentage of the property’s market value. A lower LTV means you’re borrowing less against the asset, which lenders see as less risky.
Is the interest rate yearly or monthly?
Enter the annual (per-year) rate, just like banks quote it. The calculator converts it to a monthly rate internally (annual ÷ 12).
How do I calculate property loan EMI?
Enter the property value, loan amount, annual interest rate and tenure, and this property loan EMI calculator instantly shows your monthly EMI, total interest and total amount payable using the standard reducing-balance formula EMI = P × r × (1+r)ⁿ ÷ ((1+r)ⁿ − 1).
How much loan can I get against my property?
Lenders cap the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio — typically about 75–90% of market value for home loans and 50–65% for a loan against property. Adjust the loan amount in this calculator to see your LTV update live and stay within a lender-acceptable range.
