Tricks & interesting facts

Why parlays feel 'unlucky' so often

The math behind a parlay is working against you more than it looks.

Rule of thumb: multiply each leg's own win probability together — that's your REAL chance of cashing, not the flashy payout number.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate parlay odds?

Convert every leg's odds to decimal format, multiply them all together, and that product is the parlay's combined decimal odds. Multiply by your stake to get the total payout.

How do you calculate a parlay payout?

Total payout = stake × (decimal odds of leg 1 × decimal odds of leg 2 × … × decimal odds of the last leg). Profit is the payout minus your original stake.

Do all legs of a parlay have to win?

Yes — a parlay only pays out if every single leg wins. If even one leg loses (and isn't a push), the entire parlay loses, which is why parlays pay more than the same legs bet individually.

What's a good number of legs for a parlay?

There's no single answer, but each added leg multiplies both the payout and the difficulty of winning. Three -110 legs already implies only about a 14% chance of hitting — many bettors keep parlays to 2–4 legs for that reason.

Can I mix American, Decimal and Fractional odds in one parlay?

Yes — this parlay payout calculator lets each leg use whichever format your sportsbook shows, converting everything to decimal odds behind the scenes before combining them.

Is this parlay calculator free?

Yes — free, unlimited, and 100% in-browser. No sign-up, no third-party API, nothing uploaded.
