Frequently asked questions
How much goes into my EPF each month?
You contribute 12% of basic + DA. Your employer also contributes 12%, but 8.33% (capped at ₹1,250) is diverted to the EPS pension scheme, so only about 3.67% lands in your EPF corpus. This calculator counts only the corpus.
What interest rate should I use?
The EPFO declares the rate yearly — 8.25% for FY 2025-26. It’s pre-filled, but you can change it to model a different rate. Interest is compounded on the running balance.
Why include a salary increase?
Your contribution is a percentage of pay, so as your salary rises each year, so does the amount deposited. The annual increase % models that growth for a more realistic corpus.
How do I calculate my EPF maturity amount at retirement?
Enter your monthly basic + DA, current age, retirement age, contribution percentage, expected salary growth and the EPF interest rate. This PF calculator compounds your monthly contributions and your employer’s share to project the EPF corpus you’ll have at retirement.
What is the current EPF interest rate for 2025-26?
The EPFO-declared EPF interest rate for FY 2025-26 is 8.25%, which is pre-filled in this PF calculator. You can change it to model a different rate, and the interest compounds on your running EPF balance each year.
