Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between CTC and take-home?
CTC (cost to company) is everything your employer spends on you — including their PF share, gratuity and bonus. Take-home is what actually reaches your account after PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted.
How is PF calculated?
Employee and employer each contribute 12% of basic + DA, capped at a ₹15,000 wage ceiling — so the standard figure is ₹1,800 a month each. You can override both fields if your basic is higher.
Is professional tax the same everywhere?
No — it’s a state tax and varies, with a maximum of ₹2,500 a year (about ₹200 a month). Some states (like Delhi) don’t levy it at all, so set it to 0 there.
How do I calculate my in-hand salary from CTC?
This salary calculator works out your in-hand (take-home) salary from CTC by subtracting the bonus, then 12 months of professional tax, employee PF, employer PF and any other deductions. Enter your annual CTC and the figures and it shows your monthly and yearly take-home instantly.
What is a take-home salary calculator?
A take-home salary calculator estimates the net pay that actually reaches your bank account each month after PF and tax deductions are removed from your CTC. It’s ideal for comparing job offers, since two offers with the same CTC can have very different in-hand salaries.
How much take-home will I get for a 12 LPA CTC?
For a ₹12 LPA CTC the monthly take-home depends on your bonus, PF and professional tax — typically a little under ₹1 lakh a month with standard deductions. Enter ₹12,00,000 above with your exact PF and bonus to get your precise in-hand salary.
Is my data sent anywhere?
