What is a PIN code?
PIN (Postal Index Number) is India's 6-digit postal code, introduced in 1972. The first digit denotes the region, the first three the sorting district, and the last three the specific post office. It's used to route mail and parcels accurately.
How do I find the PIN code of an area?
Switch to 'By area name', type the area or post office name (like 'Connaught Place' or 'Bandra'), and press Find. The tool lists the matching post offices with their PIN codes. You can also go the other way — enter a PIN to see all its post offices.
How do I find which area a PIN code belongs to?

Why does one PIN code show several post offices?
A single PIN code often covers a head post office plus several sub and branch post offices in the same delivery area. That's why a lookup can return multiple results — each is a distinct post office sharing that PIN.
What do 'delivery' and 'non-delivery' status mean?
A delivery post office actually delivers mail to addresses in its area, while a non-delivery office only handles booking and sorting. The status is shown on each result card.

Can I find the PIN code of my current location?
