Frequently asked questions

How do I crop an image online?

Open the Crop tool, drag a selection box over the area you want to keep, optionally lock an aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and more), then click Apply. The image is cropped instantly in your browser — no upload needed — and you can keep editing or download the result.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, editing and re-encoding all happen locally in your browser with the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded, logged or stored.

Can I apply more than one effect?

Yes — that's the point. Pick a tool, adjust it and click Apply to bake it in, then switch to another tool and apply that too. Edits stack in order. Undo removes the last applied edit; Reset reverts everything back to the original.

Do I have to click Apply before downloading?

Only if you want to stack a second edit. Download always exports exactly what you see in the preview, including the edit you're currently adjusting. Apply just commits it so the next tool builds on top.

Is the upscaler AI-based?

No. It uses high-quality stepped resampling, which is far cleaner than a browser's default scaling and great for small logos, icons and flat graphics. It doesn't invent new detail, so a very soft or noisy photo won't magically become sharp — for that you'd need a dedicated AI model.

How do I keep a square or 16:9 crop?

In the Crop tool, pick an aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16 or Original) before or while dragging — the selection box then keeps that ratio as you resize it. Choose Free for an unconstrained crop.

Why did my exported file get bigger?

Re-encoding at high quality can inflate an already heavily-compressed source, and upscaling adds pixels. Lower the Quality slider or export as WebP to shrink the file, or use the Compress Image tool for the smallest result.

Is this image editor free?

Yes — cropping, rotating, flipping, blur, sharpen and standard export are completely free with no sign-up or watermark. Because everything runs in your browser there's no server cost, so you can edit as many images as you like.

Can I rotate or flip a photo online?

Yes. Open the Rotate tool to turn the image to any angle (including a quick 90° left or right) or flip it horizontally and vertically, then Apply. Edits stack, so you can rotate, crop and adjust in one session before exporting.
